The Death of an Order, Summer 724

Three years after the start of the Rethemi/Kandian War, the Battle of Weseda sees the final destruction of the once mighty order of the Copper Hook.  With only 3 knights and a handful of Fuming Gate Priests remaining, the order dies on the field of battle.  Under the leadership of Erdin Lumede and Avan Helsun they disband the order and lead thier followers unto a new horizion.

The night after the battle Erdin claims to have spoken to one of the demon servants of the Master Agrik.  The direction of the order is made clear and the Bishop becomes well aware of the path that must be taken.  The order is to be disbanded and the name of Fuming Gate and Copper Hook are to disperse in the wind like the ashes of a once great fire.  With a dozen or so men in tow (after a brief coming to grips with a few less committed followers) he and his Commander Avan lead the last and strongest of the order to Golotha.  Once there they make plans for a new order and determine where they might ignite the spark.  But first things first, they must find any surviving plans that the order might have and recover any of the holy artifacts.  So in Golotha they find the last of the Fuming Gate holed up in the Temple, fighting off any who wish to see them finished off.  After gathering all important documents, wealth and artifacts they set forth to leave the city.  Yet before they can leave the Order of Mameka take the opportunity to lie in wait for the Fuming Gate's attempted escape.  The Bishop Lumede and the Great Agrikan Primate come quickly to words and even more quickly to blows.  But the fight is swift and Erdin in a single swift blow shatters the shoulder of the primate crushing him unto his knees where he belongs.  Before a finishing blow is sent Erdin leaves the Primate to contemplate his weakness at the hands of a superior follower of the great one.

They depart Golotha to seek council from Chafin III, still a close friend to the two leaders.  However thier meeting is abrupt and unfriendly.  Perhaps it was the close friendship that these men shared with the king was the only reason they were allowed to leave alive.  However it was apparent that Rethem was no longer home...for now.

A New Chapter Begins!!!

After years of struggle the Rethemi are on thier last legs...or are they.  The Kandians now sit proud and pretentious, contented in thier beds and contemplating treason, all the while the Rethemi are consolidating thier power and unified under King Chafin III.  With Earl Lynneaus now long gone and his lords submitting to the King, the fear of an internal strife is as dead as it former traitous earl.  Although the loss of 4 Keeps in southern Rethem was a severe blow the loss of a group of traitorous nobles is more than a small blessing.  Perhaps the Rethemi can still stem the tide.

Through all of this a small group of survivors from the Copper Hook survive.  Believed dead and destroyed the last Kemelras (Bishop) of the Fuming Gate plots thier return to power.  They have been given a divine mandate from the Emperor of Flame to rebuild and establish a new and stronger order.  With the politics and weaklings of the Fuming Gate now dead or deserted a new and stronger order can emerge.
